Shamanic Secrets to Reclaiming Your Inner Power (Part 2)

The Shaman Warrior’s Path

After practicing and studying Shamanism for years, I have come to understand that aligning with intent, strengthening one’s willpower, and cultivating a clear sense of purpose are profoundly empowering, as they help reinforce our vital energy. These qualities define the path of the shaman warrior. Carlos Castaneda described this path in his books about his encounters with Don Juan Matus.

The shaman warrior sees willpower as the disciplined focus that directs energy towards meaningful action. Intent is the invisible force that helps turn your thoughts and desires into reality. It’s about focusing your energy and actions towards a clear intention and working in harmony with the flow of life to make it happen. Purpose provides the foundation, ensuring that our actions resonate deeply with our heart and soul.

To walk the shaman warrior’s path:

  • Conserve Energy: According to Castaneda, personal power is directly tied to the energy we have available. Many of our daily activities drain this precious resource. To reclaim your power, begin by identifying and eliminating energy leaks. This means setting stronger boundaries in relationships, avoiding unnecessary drama, or reducing time spent on unproductive habits. By conserving energy, you create a reservoir of power that can be directed towards meaningful endeavours.
  • Practice Stalking the Self: In Castaneda’s teachings, “stalking” refers to the art of observing oneself with detachment and precision. It is a practice of becoming deeply aware of the patterns, beliefs and behaviours that limit your energy. The key is to observe these aspects of yourself without judgment, as though you are a hunter tracking the habits that no longer serve you.

    Stalking the self involves:
    – Identifying thoughts, emotions or actions that keep you stuck or distracted.
    – Recognizing that these patterns are not who you are, but rather habits you’ve accumulated.
    – Starting to transform your behaviour.

  • Live Impeccably: To live impeccably, as Castaneda suggests, is to act as though every decision holds significance. This doesn’t mean striving for perfection, but rather, bringing your full awareness and integrity to each choice you make. Impeccability requires discipline, mindfulness, and a deep respect for your energy and purpose. Every act becomes an opportunity to honour your personal power and move closer to your intention.

Acts of Power

An act of power is any action that pushes us beyond our comfort zone and reinforces our sense of inner strength. These acts often need courage, as they challenge us to face fears and overcome limitations. The key is recognizing that fear is not an enemy but a guide. The things we fear often point to areas of growth, inviting us to step into greater personal power.

To perform an act of power:

  1. Identify Your Fear: Reflect on what you’re avoiding. Is it a difficult conversation, a long-postponed decision, or a leap towards a dream?
  2. Start with Intent: Set a clear intention to confront this fear with awareness and respect for your own limits.
  3. Act Within Safe Boundaries: Facing fears doesn’t mean reckless behaviour. Ensure your act of power aligns with your well-being and personal values.
  4. Reflect on the Experience: After completing the act, take time to process how it felt. Did you feel a shift in your energy?

Remember, acts of power don’t need to be grand gestures. Even small steps, like speaking up in a meeting or trying something new, can be transformative. Each time you face a fear, you reclaim a piece of your energy and strengthen your connection to your personal power.

STAY CONNECTED TO THE SOURCE

The key to conserving and reclaiming your inner power lies in staying connected to the universal source of life. Everyone feels and understands their connection to the source in a different way. But one thing is for sure: by tapping into the boundless energy source gifted to us by life itself, we “return” to ourselves. In this way, we fill up with the prana existing all around us, while at the same time becoming centred and focused inside. By cultivating this connection, you not only recharge your energy but also realign with your true purpose and the greater flow of existence.

You can connect to the source in many ways – through meditation, drumming, praying, dancing, sound healing, or any practice that resonates with you. The method doesn’t matter as much as the intention behind it. The best way to choose how to align with the source is to follow your inner compass, your intuition, at any given moment.

When you dedicate time to aligning with this abundant energy, you’ll find yourself renewed, centred, and ready to navigate life with clarity and strength. Make connecting to the source a regular part of your journey, and you’ll discover the limitless power that resides within and around you.
